Terms of use

What Straks is and isn't, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you when you use it.

Last updated: 2 November 2026.

Who we are

Straks is made by Mijn Straks, registered at the KvK (the Dutch Chamber of Commerce) under number 42207521, at Van Beuningenplein 194, 1051 XA Amsterdam, the Netherlands. You can email us at hello@mijnstraks.nl.

These terms apply to everything on mijnstraks.nl: the guides, the Waitlist, the calculator and accounts. By using the site, you agree to them.

Estimates, not financial advice

The calculator gives estimates based on the numbers you enter and the assumptions shown with them. The guides explain the general rules. Neither is personal financial advice, and we don't sell or recommend financial products.

Tax rules, the AOW, pensions and investment returns change, and nobody knows what the future brings. We check our figures against official sources, but we can't guarantee that an estimate or a guide is complete, correct or up to date. Before a big decision, check it with your pension fund, the Belastingdienst or a licensed financial adviser.

Your account

You need an account to save your scenarios with us. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and email us if you think someone else has used your account.

To close your account, open Account and settings and choose Delete your account. It deletes your account and every scenario saved in it, straight away and for good, so download your data first if you'd like a copy. You can also email us from the address you signed up with, and we'll do it for you.

Using Straks fairly

Don't use Straks in a way that harms it or other people: no trying to break in or overload it, no copying it with automated tools, and no sharing your invite or your account. If you do, we may close your account.

Straks is new and still changing

We're still building Straks, so features may change, be added or be removed. Some features may cost money later. We'll tell you before anything costs you money, and you can choose then whether to pay.

If we ever stop Straks, we'll email everyone with an account at least 30 days before, so you have time to download your scenarios.

Who owns what

The numbers you enter are yours. We use them only to calculate your answers and to save your scenarios; the privacy policy says how. The guides, the calculator, its design and its code belong to Straks. You can link to a guide or quote a short part of it with a link back, but don't copy whole guides.

Our liability

We do our best to keep Straks correct and working, but it may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for decisions you make based on its estimates or guides, or for losses caused by the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Dutch law.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as Straks changes, and the date at the top says when they last changed. For a change that matters to you, we email everyone with an account at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't agree with it, you can close your account before then.

Dutch law

Dutch law applies to these terms. If something goes wrong, email us first and we'll try to solve it together. If we can't, a court in the Netherlands decides. As a consumer, you can also go to the court where you live.
